Cooking Tips:

Improvise freely with the seasonings and grains. But if you want onions, use them on the outside, not the inside - they make the veggie burger mixture too wet.

Serving Suggestions:

In summer, serve tofu burgers with all your favorite veggie burger fixings, corn on the cob, and potato salad.

Any time, serve tofu burgers with home fried potatoes, and carrot apple salad.

For a light meal, skip the bun, and serve tofu burgers with steamed veggies or a green salad or carrot apple salad.

Comments & Questions About Tofu Burgers

Comment: I want to congratulate you on the "Quick Kid Friendly Tofu Veggie Burger," recipe- its absolutely wonderful!

The Quick Kid Friendly Tofu Burger was easy and delicious! Great for a hot summer day. :-) Emily S.

I made the tofu burger recipe a few weeks ago and a person who dropped by never had a clue it wasn't a traditional hamburger. I made it again in a larger batch last week with a few modifications. First was the addition of one teaspoon each of liquid smoke and worcestershire sauce for a yield of 8 very large burgers with a triple recipe and I also added 1/4 medium red onion and because it was as you pointed out extra moist by doing this I just added equal amounts of oats, corn meal and ground flax until it was again the proper consistency. I then fried it in Pam. I had one very filling burger with my favorite condiments on a 100 calorie whole wheat sandwich thin bun. The burgers froze well and were enjoyed microwaved later. - Karen B.
